Ga. lawyers group rejects Eichholz claim

Savannah attorney Benjamin Eichholz is not a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, an association spokesman said Monday.

Rebecca DeHart, communications director, said Eichholz's claim on his Web site of association membership is incorrect.

"He is not a member," she said.

The association members are 1,800 trial lawyers - including 79 Savannah lawyers - dedicated to protecting the civil justice system and honoring the constitutional rights of their clients, DeHart said.

The trial lawyers released their statement after Eichholz was named in a 77-count federal indictment charging he schemed to embezzle more than $950,000 from pension plans for employees of his law firm.

Ok so they let him make that

Ok so they let him make that claim for years on his website but only now they disown him. Sounds fishy to me. They allowed him to give them publicity until it is time to abandon ship. Gotta love lawyers.
