Aiken County investigation leads to drug charges

AIKEN -- Several people have been arrested this morning in a drug raid at a home in Aiken County.

According to a news release, Aiken County sheriff's narcotics investigators served a search warrant on a home at 208 Daley Drive in Burnettown following a several months of investigation.

Police say the home is the main residence of Jimmy Lee Mikell, who was charged with three counts of distribution of controlled substances (pills), three counts of distribution of controlled substance (pills) within a half mile of a county park, two counts of unlawful possession of prescription medicine and possession of a controlled substance.

In the search, investigators say they found many types of pills and prescription medicine as well as a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Also facing charges were: Donald Preston Brantley, of Burnettown, on distribution of marijuana, distribution of marijuana within a half mile of a county park, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia; John Callie Redd, of Gloverville, S.C., on attempting to possess prescription medicine; Melinda Lee Proctor, of Burnettown, on possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; and Felton Duran Williams, of Burnettown, on possession of drug paraphernalia.
