U.S. Rep. Paul Broun will hold a second town hall meeting tonight in Columbia County to hear from citizens concerned about the new federal health care bill.
Jessica Morris, Dr. Broun's press secretary, said an overflow crowd showed up for the first session, which began at 6 p.m. at the Columbia County Board of Education office, 4781 Hereford Farm Road, in Evans. Because of the size of the crowd, the congressman decided to hold a second session, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., she said.
Dr. Broun has received countless calls, e-mails and letters from constituents, many in Columbia County, who are very concerned about the proposals coming out of Washington for a government takeover of health care, Miss Morris said.
Say No To Government Run Health Care!!!!!!!!!
Say NO to corporate run health care!!!!!
Say NO to welfare in any form! If you can't afford healthcare, get a better job! Either EARN it or do without!
Say NO to drugs!!!
Getting to the basics, what will you do when your insurance company drops you or decides not to let you have an operation? What will you really do? If you think that your doctor loves you, try not paying them for six months. They will have you in collection. The people that really need to say something about health care are dead now. Their voices will not be heard. The ones that are close or have given up don't wish to fight with you anymore. Time and life is short. You don't know what products that have been approved by the FDA that would cost you major health problems. You just don't know. Pull out your health care booklet, if you can understand everything in it, just be quiet. Many people need to figure out their way without you shouting out at the top of your lungs. Watching someone die isn't a pretty picture when you know the wealth, the knowledge, and the capability of this country and the people. Seeing people wanting and wishing other people to not have decent health care is a shameful and sinful sight. Where were you when the HOM were in their hay days of denial treatments? None of those people are alive today. Is this what you want again and promoting?
Say NO to Liberal Tyranny.
Nobody in this country is turned away if they are in need of health care. Those of us that have insurance are already paying for "THE LESS FORTUNATE"
We do not need any more of The Bamster's Socialists programs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Say NO to stupidity and kneejerk idiocy...i.e., say NO to Paul Broun and the rest of you punters.
Quite frankly, I'm tired of the left's tired old lies. The so-called"progressive" movement is nothing more than a re-writing of what the libs outlined in the 1930's - including their designs on running individual's health care! I think more and more Americans are starting to "get it" and will reject these tired old lies.
I just love all of the educated and informed statements about the health care plan. Some of you ought to run for office.....not. Jack2006 makes perfect sense. You think you are in control of your health care now? Plllease. You are not. The doctors, drug companies and big business control the amount of money coming out of your pocket for mediocre health care. Most folks who encounter a catastrophic illness end up claiming bankruptcy because they cannot pay their percentage of the claim. If we don't get some health care plan established for all then many will die from lack of care. The companies are NOT for you but for their profit margin! Wake up scaredy cats! Why doesn't the GOP reps want you to have the same health care that they enjoy?????
I disagree Johnq - so tag me UNAmerican on roll on. But scared I am not.
I live in Europe. Socialized Medicine DOES NOT WORK. Socialism as a whole only encourages people not to work. I am counting the days until my job contract ends and I can go back to the US.
Last I knew, jqp, the dems were in control of both houses. Point me to where Nancy Pel has indicated that she wants us to participate in their plan. I think that the Repubs are pretty clear on wanting us to similar choices as to what they have. My husband and I have it. We pay for it ourselves.
JohnQPublic - wouldn't the better question be - why don't the Dems want us to have the same health care they enjoy? If this is such a great plan, why doesn't the President, his family and congress sign up for it? There are too many unanswered questions with this plan and for the most part, none of the congressmen understand with this bill is all about. I desire health care reform - just not this boondoggle that no one can explain how much it will even cost, who it will cover, or any other specifics. Besides, government controlled anything does not work.
Roeschen, you are right. The DOD, the Army and others, the Interstate highway system, the FAA, Medicare program, etc. etc. etc atere just signs of total and complete failures. BTW the healthcare for congress is the same as all federal civilians enjoy. It is made up of a full plate of choices that the user selects based on basically how much they want to gamble. The presidential healthcare is dictated by congress and is based on the need to protect the leader of the nation. I am not so sure I want the president waiting in the emergency room to see a doctor for a fever, do you actually want that?
