Eddie Williams Jr., of Hudson Road near Wadley, was arrested without incident on a charge of murder at 5:15 p.m. by officers with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation, according to a release.

Authorities say Mr. Williams' mother, Janice Williams, was found at her home on Hudson Road suffering from head injuries just before noon on Tuesday. She died just before midnight the same day while being treated at an Augusta hospital.

An autopsy determined Mrs. Williams died from massive head trauma, and her death was ruled a homicide. Mr. Williams is being held at the Jefferson County Jail awaiting a first appearance hearing, which has not yet been set.

What in the world is this world coming too. It's sad and bad when they start killing their own Moms. If he's found guilty HANG HIM!!

Cricket, I was thinking the same thing. He's being charged with the murder of his mother and whether he did it or not, he's got a smirk on his face like he doesn't have a care in the world. WOW!!
