North Augusta authorities are looking for a group of people who robbed a Domino's pizza delivery man Monday night.
The 27-year-old was delivering a pizza to a house at 312 Sycamore Drive just before midnight when the incident occurred, according to a North Augusta Public Safety report.
He handed the pizza to the group, which consisted of several men and women, and while he was making change one of them stole about $20 from his hand, the report said.
They asked for more, and when he refused they ran away. The Aiken County Bloodhound Team was sent to the search the area but was unable to locate any of the robbers.
People are just getting stupid. Like a pizza delivery man has a lot of money!!! They are willing to risk going to jail over $20.00. What fools.
hmm.. I wonder if they'll start offering pizza deliverers hazard pay?
so let me get this straight, $20 was taken from the pizza delivery man. It says nothing about a weapon or force used, so I'm assuming it was a snatch and run. Get the gloodhounds and have a manhunt? Only in Carolina
sounds like it's the same group that does this... won't be long before nobody can get pizza delivered
in that area of north augusta, they should expect problems. to me maybe the pizza places ought to stop delivering after 10:00 in the summer and 9:00 in the winter. you want pizza that bad, go get it yourself at that time of night.........
I used to deliver for a pizza chain in Aiken. We were never to carry more than $20 cash on us at any given time. You would be surprised how often the grab and dash occurs. We would deliver pizza all over Aiken, just not on a particular side of a particular train track. We would deliver directly across the street, just not on "that" side. Any business has the right to refuse service to anyone at anytime for any reason, USE IT!!!!!! In terms of hazard pay, i seriously doubt that, I hardly used to get reimbursed for gas money,
Papa John's drivers shoot to kill in Augusta
They should charge an additional fee to deliver to some area's to cover the cost of an armed guard.
I feel like I am in the movie Ground Hog Day because everyday I come on this website and see this same story.
Simple remedy: Pay with a credit card over the phone.
If the card is declined, you won't even have to make a pizza.
Pizza Hut on Wrightsboro Rd wouldn't deliver to me because I wouldn't give them a credit card number.
Also allow the delivery person to carry a gun if they wish.
The same thing as this happened in Irmo, SC several months ago and the Pizza man shot one and they cought the otherone a block or so away setting on a storm drain eating the pizza. Hey, he was about to starve. It was stupidity per Presbho.
They should make those who want to order pizza after a certain hour of night pay with a card first. At least this way, the pizza delivery person dosen't have to carry any cash, as well as not worry about getting killed over someone who is starving to death after smoking a crap load of weed with the munchies, etc.
The Pizza places should suspend all deliveries to this neighborhood. This has happened how many times in the last week?
Simple answer to correct problem. They phoned in right. The person who owns the phone should be responsible for the loss. I don't care if they had let someone else use the phone, they are responsible for calls made through the phone. So if the call set this man up to be robbed the owner should pay the price for allowing whatever to happen. I sure wouldn't let riffraff use my phone to order pizza if I suspect they are up to no good. This way all losses will be paid. Charge it to the phone number as part of the bill.
So where is the description? Maybe the AC knows that we already know.
He let some kids take just $20 from him
So I'm dieing to know what the assailants looked like. Tell us, please ..gender,height,race etc. Hmmmm, guess we already know the answers heh.
