Purses reported stolen at funeral

  • Follow Latest News

At least three local women had their vehicles broken into and their purses stolen while they were attending a funeral Wednesday at Westover Cemetery on Wheeler Road.

According to Richmond County sheriff’s reports, the women were at the service about 12:45 p.m. when someone broke the passenger side windows of their vehicles and took the purses.

The women said they were standing about 100 yards from their vehicles when the thefts took place. One purse along with its contents was valued at $1,201. The other two purses and their contents were valued at $91 and $86.

They're lying. first of all

They're lying. first of all most women would have taken their purses with them. Second of all $1,201.00? How strange. Check out the other mourners if these people were not in on this scam.

The people who commit this

The people who commit this type of crime are worse than scum. My grandmother once had her purse snatched, yes, snatched, while visiting my grandfather's gravesite. The low life has never been caught, and her purse has never been recovered. It's a good thing I wasn't with her when this happened, it would not have been a pretty site when I caught up with this perp. These type of people need to be dealt with harshly.

One would hope that some

One would hope that some places are safe and sacred, but alas, reality tells us otherwise. I ever carry my purse when I go up for Communion. Even Church is not as safe as it should be. Sinners abound. My own Mother's grave was robbed of a statue of Mary! How low can you go???? Hopefully whenever the thief looks at the statue, he/she will feel a twinge of guilt.

R2......let's think about

R2......let's think about this.

"Hey, let's go to a random funeral. We'll get all dressed up. Nobody will know us, but it won't matter. We'll stand by the cars that have purses that look like they have lots of money in them. when you see us over there, you come and bust the windows out and snatch that s**t. We'll act like we don't even notice."

more likely, just some crack head. crack is not a respecter of persons.
