More than $4 million in federal stimulus funds were awarded this month to a project that will resurface 10 miles of Deans Bridge Road between Sandy Run Creek and Tobacco Road.
The project was awarded to Reeves Construction Co. of Macon, Ga., according to a Georgia Department of Transportation news release.
The money is part of $75.5 million in contracts the DOT awarded this month with money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the release said. Sixteen other projects were awarded across the state, and construction is to begin on all in September.
This is phase two of the acts implementation, which is designed to put about $500 million into the states economy though the rest of the year. Phase one included 94 highway system projects in Georgia for $216 million, the release said.
