Michael Karonski Samuel, 27, of the 1000 block of Amli Way, is charged with first degree cruelty to children, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

Deputies were called to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital emergency room and spoke with the child’s mother, the report said. The mother told police that she left the baby alone with Mr. Samuel, her boyfriend, while she was at work. When she came home, the suspect told her that the child had been asleep and accidentally kicked the iron– burning his feet. However, the report said that the child had burns to the back of his legs as well and that the doctor did not believe the burns appeared accidental.

They should string him up by

They should string him up by his dreads for harming a child like that. I wish we could ban every person to some far off location who has ever harmed a child.

Hasn't anyone noticed his

Hasn't anyone noticed his total lack of concern facial expression? I could be wrong, but I think if you asked him he would see nothing wrong with his actions.

He looks stoned. They need to burn him with the iron. Liveand learn you are right they need to send people like that to an island by themselves so they can hurt each other.

...and there are many more

...and there are many more just like him in Augusta. We wonder why these children grow up not having a shred of value in human life. It's because no one ever showed them love, and they were only treated like this man treated the baby.

There is a lot of explaining

There is a lot of explaining needed here... I don't see how a one year old could burn the back of their leg with anything. It is right to charge him and finish investigating what happened. I agree with the doctor it just seems misplaced for a child to have this type injury without foul play..

cparker, first of all a 1

cparker, first of all a 1 year old could have easily gotten tangled up in the iron's cord and couldn't getaway without being burnt in other places. i have known Michael for a very long time and he wouldn't hurt a child, let alone burn an innoncent child! People need to stop believing everything that's put in the paper especially Augusta Chronicle. There's 2 sides to every story!
