Kenny Larry shot 2-under-par 70 today in the first round of the Ping Regions Cup Invitational at Gordon Lakes Golf Course, putting him in position for his 10th career senior division victory.
Larry, who won the first two senior division events this season, has a two-shot lead over Robert Samuels and a three-shot lead over senior rookie Paul Moore.
At age 53, Larry is already in fifth on the career victory list, which is headed by Ed Payne and Mike Jackson with 13. Chuck Withers has 12 and Michael Benham 11.
In the regular division, teenager Gaines Milliner leads with 69. Milliner, who finished second in the third flight last week at the Augusta City Amateur, has a four-shot lead over Doug Weiss, Michael Phelps and Zac Lawless. Jay Blackburn had 74, as did defending champ Adam McKenney.
