Two-vehicle crash kills four

The Georgia State Patrol has released the identities of four people who were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Bryan County early this morning.

About 6:30 a.m., a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, driven by Michael Delph, 28, of Phenix City, Ala., was headed north in a southbound lane when it struck a 2001 Mazda MPV minivan head-on, state patrol Trooper Chris Cuddington said.

Delph died in the wreck, as did the driver of the minivan, identified as Michelle Carryl, 41, of Apopka, Fla., Cuddington said.

Also killed were two passengers of the minivan: Dwight Spencer, 19, also of Apopka; and Cyril Millington, 59, of Queens, N.Y., the trooper said.

Carryl's children, a 15-year-old boy and two girls, ages 9 and 13, were taken to Memorial University Medical Center – one by helicopter and two by ambulance – and were expected to survive their injuries, Cuddington said.

Although early in the investigation, Cuddington said that "alcohol is going to be a factor."

He added: "There were open containers inside the vehicle," referring to the pickup truck.

The crash, about two miles south of U.S. 17, prompted a roughly 10-mile stretch of I-95 to shut down for about four hours.

Southbound traffic was re-routed onto U.S. 17, through Midway, Ga., Cuddington said.

The Bryan County Sheriff’s Department and Richmond Hill police also responded to the scene.

Drinking and driving bring nothing but tragedy! God bless all those involved and may He help those left behind!

That AH must have been drunk out of his mind to get onto the southbound side of I-95 headed north. There are just so many ways that would be hard to do. I wonder what it was like for him when he found himself stone cold sober all of a sudden, answering for the lives of the other three people he murdered.
