Human Resources Director Joyce Stanley was rehired at 75 percent of her current salary.
She will also be on contract for only this year and her replacement will be sought in the 2010-2011 school year.
The school board voted earlier this year to only hire retirees in critical needs areas, and at reduced salary.
No other retirees have been rehired from the more than 20 that were let go earlier this year, including several principals. About 10 certified employees - which includes aides and bus drivers - that were let go earlier this year are being asked back as positions become available.
The school board also approved the first reading of a policy that requires staff to keep cell phones turned off and out of sight during school hours.
The staff policy will mirror that or the new student cell phone policy put into place last month that requires their phones to stay in lockers and cars.
