A new baby retail store opened this morning.

Buybuy Baby's first Georgia location opened at 242 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway, said corporate spokeswoman Catherine Gentile. The location had been vacant since early 2008, when CompUSA closed.

The store sells clothing, strollers, car seats, furniture, toys and developmental products for infants and toddlers.

Buybuy Baby was founded in 1996 and acquired in 2007 by Bed Bath & Beyond, which is expanding the chain. It has 16 other stores in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Michigan, Florida, Ohio and Indiana.

Ms. Gentile said the company doesn’t comment on the number of people it employs at stores.

The store is 26,000 square feet.
