Martinez is among the best places to live in America, according to Money magazine, which annually lists a top 100 based on a sense of community, economic opportunities, racial diversity and good schools.

The Columbia County community of 30,600 people ranked 63rd on the list of the nation’s small towns. Martinez was on the list in 2007 as the 76th best place.

Louisville, Colo., with a population of 18,800, took the top spot.

Two other Georgia communities made the list: Peachtree City and Suwanee. No community in South Carolina was in the top 100.
