Police find Mexico-grown marijuana in Doraville

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Authorities say a tractor-trailer filled with 2,462 pounds of marijuana from Mexico has been found in Doraville.

Police said four men were arrested on charges related to the transportation of the marijuana - Edilberto Gijon-Jimenez, of Atlanta; Ramon Hernandez-Castro, of Norcross; Gilberty Riviera-Alcaraz, of Lawrenceville, and Jesus Hernandez-Gutierrez, of Sugar Hill.

Another man, Pedro Mendoza-Lugo, of Las Vegas, is charged with conspiracy to commit a crime.

Jail records show the five were arrested by Gwinnett police and federal authorities between July 2 and Saturday.

Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said no additional information was available on Monday.

Want to bet that none of them

Want to bet that none of them are U.S. citizens or even legally in the U.S (Green Cards)? I guess that's why the educational system is pushing the learning of the Spanish language - so we can communicate with all the illegals (and legals, too). If you are going to live in America and reap the benefits, learn to speak and understand English. It is not our place to learn to communicate with you in your language - this is America and English is the language of this country.

It's never a waste of time or effort to study foreign languages. Of course, it does take effort, and I suspect that's your real objection - having to study is so hard, what with opening books and all...

Demented Dave - you would be surprised at who I am and the extent of my education. I agree with you that it is never a waste to study and learn other languages - my objection is that we are expected to cater to these immigrants instead of them accepting responsibilities for living in America.

It is 2009 and people live in

It is 2009 and people live in space for months but the US can't figure out how to secure a border? Pathetic. High voltage wiring, motion and heat detection automatic weapons, etc would secure the border quickly.

Are here illegally and sell

Are here illegally and sell illegal drugs...go figure.

Own businesses and don't pay their state taxes and are allowed to stay in business or they open another business in another name.

Own grocery stores and use them as a smoke screen! No pun intended.

Work and don't pay taxes. Have babies and get welfare and SSI.

That's the American way and they love it. American's do it too!
