Man killed at Wrightsboro Road apartments

An Augusta man was shot and killed late Friday night during an altercation at the Fox Trace apartments off of Wrightsboro Road.

According to Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen, Miguel Ramirez Hernandez, 30, was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m. Saturday from a gunshot wound to the chest. The homicide is the twelfth in Augusta so far this year.

The shooting occurred after an altercation between several males outside of the apartments. Authorities were still investigating the shooting late Saturday.
