Police have arrested an Augusta teenager in connection with an armed robbery on Kissingbower Road late Friday night.

According to a Richmond County sheriff’s report, Tavis Eamon Harris, 17, robbed a man at gunpoint outside the man’s home in the 1900 block of Kissingbower, taking his wallet and an envelope containing some money. The suspect fled in the direction of Haynie Drive.

While searching the surrounding area, officers saw a young man exit from a wooded area behind Cumberland Apartments at 1931 Murphy Road and then try to hide in some bushes outside the apartments. When the officers began to approach him, the young man attempted to flee but then stopped and gave up.

All of the victim’s stolen property was recovered. Mr. Harris has been charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
