Music fans can hail to the King of Pop tonight in downtown Augusta.

Radio Station WKSP-FM will hold a tribute event for Michael Jackson at 7 p.m. at the James Brown statue on Broad Street, according to a sales representative for the radio station.

The station welcomes fans to bring candles, flowers and other items to honor the singer, who died Thursday of cardiac arrest.

Who cares if Michael is dead? That is one less child molester in this world!!! Get a life people.

froggy1

Halleluah brother, well said!!

CallMeOpinionated

AND, why would they hold the tribute that the James Brown statue? That space should be identified and used for James Brown tributes only. It becomes a space no different than a park bench if its used for anything under the sun.

ladyg

I am not a MJ dedicated fan, but Dixieland4 and froggy1, I didn't know that you all were in MJ's bedroom when all of this happened. How quickly you all are to judge when NO ONE really knows ALL the facts. All anyone know is what was reported. Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear.

MtnMan

TrukinRanger........the candles are for a celebration of his life. You may see people light candles at Rock Concert to lighting a candle with a prayer...has nothing to do with darkness......what ever OUR opinions let those who liked him have their day...it's called respect...

g-dog express

who cares, no one praised and idolized the priests.

Frank I

sure they did g-dog, the Catholic church did.. the clergy that they supposedly served..

When Dixieland4, froggy and g-dog express die, Augusta will be a better place.

g-dog express

Frank, read the comments frog and dixie did not praise Catholic priests. Did they say they were Catholic? Who cares did. 0430, your comment speaks for itself and your preduices.

Thank you MtnMan, ladyg and others . Maybe I am too naive but I just do not believe that MJ did those things. He wasn't perfect but with all the GOOD things he did and the many charities he contributed to plus his musical talents I think he deserves a memorial. I hate all the negative things going on with his death. And for you negative folks....like my grandmother use to say, if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all!!

AnHam

ladyg & MtnMan I so agree. None of it was proven. The Man is dead. Show some respect. He was a person who had feelings. The people with the bad comments are so cruel and none of it is called for! He was a great singer & dancer & that is what he should be remembered for.

happydazerhereagain

well said mtman

who cares

g-dog express reading and comprehending are still TWO ENTIRELY different things

happydazerhereagain

if folks really believed he was a child molester deep down, his death would not be so publicized and all over the news and everywhere you go i can asure you..the whole big fat world can not be wrong. i think he was an eccentric, so what

shamrock

Did everyone forget Michael's famous interview with a young kid leaning against him and describing sharing a bed with anyone is a beautiful thing???

happydazerhereagain

the priests were not famous to begin with, what's your point gdog

happydazerhereagain

and what is YOUR point shamrock?

happydazerhereagain

if janet jackson shared a bed with kids would all this hype be going on?

Javital

I dislike you ppl that always past judgements let god do that becuase i bet he will have alot to say when it's your judgement day!!!!!!!!!!

Javital

dixie and frogger or whatever... lord have mercy on there ignorant souls!!!!

g-dog express

Only if your definition to the word comprehending is adding what you want to the subject. What bothers me with Van Love's comment is not that who cares is offended by the statements of the dixieland and froggy but that in that offence they openly assumed that dixieland and froggy were not offended at Catholic priests without any evidence to back up the comment. Sexual abuse is offensive and especially when committed on children.

Dixieland's and froggy's comments are no less offensive since MJ was never convicted. I do think the attention paid to MJ's death is a little overdone but that is the world we find ourselves in.

Finally I've spent way too much time one this subject. Bye!

Michael Jackson died last week, his death is last week's news. "He" has moved on, why can't you? He is no longer a part of this world. Please remember him and grieve for him in private, as the world turns. Life goes on.

Will they be holding candles or their crotches?

I'M not judging Dixieland 4 and froggy1 but the Holy Bible states in Matthew 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged;and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Mr. Thackeray

Once more, I think it is cruel to speak ill of the dead. Don’t throw Hitler in my face again as his evil is proven beyond any showdown of doubt. If we are not ALL innocent until PROVEN guilty then we are in big trouble in this country. I have to question one's motives in constantly pounding on rumor and innuendo.

Antiqwa

Can't we all just get along :-)...

Orenthal James Simpson was just about as well known and popular as Michael Jackson. OJ also declared his innocence in the stabbing deaths of two people and was also exonerated after his lengthy trial. Most everybody I know felt he was guilty of a double murder. With a good and expensive lawyer you can get off with just about anything.

happydazerhereagain

well hell, everyone knows OJ was guilty as a you know what, he's the one that needs to ROT, his death will bring lots of much ado bout nothing
