Girl, 14, charged in fatal stabbing

ALBANY, Ga. — Albany officials say a 14-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with murder in the stabbing death of a 12-year-old boy.

Albany police chief John Proctor said 14-year-old Ladrona Hamilton had gone to Cordele, where her family lived previously, after the incident Friday but was brought back to Albany on Saturday.

According to police documents, witnesses said they saw her arguing with 12-year-old Jamal Williams. They said she confronted Jamal as he walked away and stabbed him once in the upper left chest.

He was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead, the report said.

She was also charged with aggravated assault and was taken to the Doughtery County Jail.

Please let someone proof read

Please let someone proof read the articles before they are put on the site. They seem to be written by grade school children.

That's "newspaper" not news

That's "newspaper" not news paper and should say it is "written" not "wrote". "Not just for stuck up individuals that open their mouths before thinking." is a sentence fragment, not a sentence. And it should be "stuck-up" not "stuck up". There, that should bring your comment UP to a sixth grade level. Just to be fair to each, unknown1, I'll point out that FlyersFan77, should have written someone should have "proofread" not proof read the articles.... Besides this wasn't an Augusta Chronicle article it was the Associated Press. (AP) I try to refrain from making corrections like this except when someone else has jumped all over somebody and makes several more mistakes than the person he jumped. We all make mistakes.

Where I feel the paper is a

Where I feel the paper is a professional reporting business and should be held to the highest standards, the commenters are stating personal opinion and should be judged on content and not grammar and spelling. If you understand what the person intends well enough to criticize and correct them, then you understand the content. Criticizing, at this point, is mostly picking. The misuse of there for they're and won't for want are irritating, but they are easily deciphered to an understandable point. If the content is confused because of spelling or sentence structure, then a simple request for clarification would solve the problem,( sometimes). As baroness implied, we all make mistakes. It's bad enough more than half of the city is short on knowledge on most subjects without being the spelling police or sentence structure police. Let's all show our versatility by absorbing these simple mistakes so we can attack on the content. Now, everyone go back to your corners, draw your opinions and come out fighting.

I thinked the post by "unknown1" was wrote just too keyp us all ammused. It were funny, ya know whut I'm sayin?

Now for being serious.....What is up with kids killing kids? I'll bet she has seen her mama beating on men before and she thinks that is how you handle a disagreement. Or she's seen men beating on her mama and just hates men. America HAS to stop letting babies HAVE babies. You see the results right here. You have to be 16 and pass a test to get a drivers license, but you can pop out a baby and be a "parent" at any age. Sad, sad, sad indeed.

In an attempt to control the

In an attempt to control the voting public, our federal government tends to do all they can to remove personal responsibility from the mind of the general population. Over an extended period, this effort has seeped deeply into our society and we have children producing and raising children with standards set forth by Hollywood movie standards and words of wisdom from "comedy" shows. The subsidy population is growing and "...it's society's fault so society should foot the bill". Until responsibility and accountability are allowed to reenter the social guidelines, these incidents will not only continue, they'll continue to increase in number.

Good grief, dissman, one

Good grief, dissman, one could ask the same of you! And how do you know the girl is a "heathen?" The article did not reflect enough facts to make a sound judgment about the incident, so one does not know what really took place at the time the incident occurred. I agree with PT that responsibility and accountablity are key to social guidelines--and society should cease providing the excuses people use to extricate themselves from troublesome situations. We were taught that if you did something wrong, it was your responsibility to own the wrong; my children were also taught this and I've yet to hear them blame someone else for their errors. As far as "comedy" shows are concerned, I find them abusive and and far from funny--there are so few talented commedians who can tell great jokes without using the very worst of profanity; makes you wonder about the caliber of the people who consider themselves as being comedic. Unfortunately, parental control seems to be lacking in every quarter. Consequently, we will have recurring incidents such as the one noted in the article.

"ladrona" leaves little doubt that rmorris' figures are correct, at least in this case.
