Freddie Lee Curry, 36, and Sammy Davis Mims, 44, were convicted late Friday of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine from 1997 to 2008, according to a news release sent today from United States Attorney W. Walter Wilkins' office.
Mr. Curry also was convicted on two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, marijuana and crack cocaine. Mr. Mims was also convicted of being a felon in possession of firearms.
Sentencing has been set for a later date not mentioned in the release, but they could face a sentence of 20 years to life in prison.
Both men were accused of being part of a group that from Oct. 1997 to July 2008 distributed more than 25 kilograms of crack cocaine and 100 kilograms of cocaine in the Currytown area of North Augusta.
