ELLENWOOD, Ga. - A Barnesville mother has been arrested after leaving her 4-month-0old twins locked in her car while she was shopping at a Wal-Mart in Ellenwood.

The infants were discovered by another shopper who heard their cries Saturday through the cracked windows of Jenesia Williams car.

Darlene Marshall was parked next to the Scion. She and her husband were leaving the Ellenwood store, a little after 10 p.m., when she discovered the twins.

Police were waiting for Williams, who was arrested and charged with two counts of child cruelty.

Police spokeswoman Rebecca Brown said the infants were taken to a hospital as a precaution, then released to their father.

What? Seriously, what do you

What? Seriously, what do you need at 10pm that you didn't need earlier in the evening? What was so important that you would leave 4 month old babies in the car? The AJC reported that it was 90 degrees outside and they (the Marshall couple and the police) waited over 20 minutes for her to come out!!! How long were they in the car before this couple passed? Tragedy!

Thank god it wasn't earlier

Thank god it wasn't earlier in the day, they would have died. I swear I don't understand the mentality of people, they keep having babies and have no idea how to be a parent. How hard is it to put your child in a stroller of cart from the store??????? Also, instead of waiting 20 min why didn't the police break out the glass or jimmy the door and get the babies out?

Police got the babies out as

Police got the babies out as soon as they got there. When "Mom" finished shopping she came out and saw the 2 empty car seats she started crying, "Where are my babies?" (not too worried out them when she went in the store though!) They were being evaluated by EMS. Babies were released to Dad and Mom went to the big house!

You have to be an IDIOT to

You have to be an IDIOT to leave your kids in the car this time of year, day or night. There are times in summer when it's still 90 degrees at 11PM. If it was such a hassle for her to take her kids with her to go shopping, why didn't she leave them with a relative or have someone come to the house and stay with them while she did her shopping? STUPID STUPID STUPID!

The ability to give birth

The ability to give birth doesn't mean that you are fit to be a parent.

The words that I would use to

The words that I would use to describe this "parent" couldn't be printed on this site without being censored. The babies should go to foster care and the CAR should be seized and sold to pay for their care......Or just a good ol' fashioned caning for this "mother" on the public square.
