A single-vehicle crash Sunday night killed a 54-year-old Allendale, S.C., woman.

According to a statement released by Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, Vicki Gregory Welch was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ms. Welch was the unrestrained driver of a 2003 Chevy S-10 Blazer that was traveling east on Colbert Bridge Road near Aiken. Ms. Welch left the roadway, struck a culvert, overturned several times and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then caught fire, Mr. Carlton said.

The crash happened at 8:20 p.m. There were no passengers in Ms. Welch's vehicle. This crash is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner's Office.

This is the 19th fatal crash in Aiken County this year.
