GREENWOOD, S.C. — Authorities say they've recaptured a South Carolina inmate that walked away from a work detail seven months ago.

WSPA-TV in Spartanburg reported today that Rahmad Norman is back in custody. He faces several charges for his escape, including resisting arrest.

Authorities say they received several tips from people in Greenwood that Norman was staying with a relative. Greenwood County sheriff's deputies spotted his car at his girlfriend's house Thursday and found Norman hiding behind some insulation in an attic.

It's unclear if Norman has an attorney. A man who answered the phone at the jail said he could not release any information.
