A sheriffs deputy from Missouri was arrested at his hotel early Tuesday morning after he attempted to force a woman to have sex with him in the bathroom of a local bar, police said.
Lucian James Nevatt, 24, of Nixa, Mo., is charged with one count of sexual battery, a misdemeanor, according to a Richmond County sheriffs jail committal.
Mr. Nevatt followed a woman into the bathroom at The Loft, 927 Broad St., and forced himself on her" in a sexual manner, a sheriffs report said.
The 21-year-old victim said she tried repeatedly to leave the room stating that they couldnt because she was married and it was illegal to have sex in a public bathroom to which the suspect replied that it was OK because he was a cop, the report said.
Mr. Nevatt is a deputy with the Stone County Sheriffs Office, according to the report.
The suspect was removed from the bar and later arrested at his room in the Marriott Hotel.
Despicable. On a power trip, no doubt. Good job RCSO.
I think they should have announced that he's a cop when they took him down to 401 since he was so quick to say so while committing the offence
Frank---> Amen to that!! Wonder what kind of power trip he would be on then!
WAS a deputy with the Stone County Sheriff's Office.
Doesn't NO really mean YES? Obama tells us that Democrats are NOT wanting to take over health care, when we all know that they fully intend to. Obama told us NO lobbyists would work in the administration, but when they apply they hear YES. I'm confused..............
boy humble you really are confused with the same post 3 times.
any opportunity to get on your soapbox humble.. that's not very humble of you...

So the victim told him.. "The 21-year-old victim said she tried repeatedly to leave the room — stating that they couldn’t because she was married and it was illegal to have sex in a public bathroom " I wonder is she flirted and teased him giving him the idea that she was inviting him for more. If she really is married I would think she wouldn't want to do that because she loves her husband... not just because she IS married and it is illegal.
yep, that's it.. it's her fault.. she asked for it, right roundaboutway?
That's right frankie
Flirting or not.... No means No. "No" is a complete sentence.
that's what I was getting at Sister.. it doesn't matter what she might have done that led up to the event, she said NO and that's the end of it...
I'm not defending the deputy. But women giving men the wrong signal at a bar has happened more than once.
What was a married woman doing alone in a bar?
she has a husband who's secure enough in their relationship that she doesn't have to have a chaperone.. much like the relationship my wife and I have... my wife goes out to several bars downtown, by herself quite frequently..
I think it matters very much what she said and did before the incident. If this story happend how it was written, then yes the deputy is in the wrong. But females AND males need to be mindful of the signals and actions they give to others....Especially when alcohol may be involved.
Who said she wasn't in the bar WITH her husband? Was he supposed to follow her into the restroom? We don't know if he was there or not. Stop jumping to conclusions!
Frank, no woman needs to go to bars alone. Sorry, if I'm old fashioned, but I've learned that if you put yourself or someone else in temptations way, eventually, inevitably temptation wins. A married woman can drink at home with her husband, and if there's something THAT important at a BAR, he should accompany her. MORALS and COMMON SENSE.
Also, EARLY Tuesday morning.....geeez, if I were her husband......
NEone, if her husband had been there, I'm sure she would have told the perpetrator that, and the police.
Isn't Missouri the "Show Me" state?
Funny Niko
For all you chauvinists out there NO MEAN NO NO MATTER WHAT SIGNAL SHE SENT! I applaud your marriage Frank and GAC what morals? What moral code did she brak by going to the Bar by herself. If her husband doesn't have a problem with it then>>>>>>
GAC, you don't need to apologize for being "old fashioned." As TJ Hooker used to say, "I've seen the Past and it worked."
1) my wife knows well enough how to take care of herself so she can go anywhere she chooses by herself 2) our morals and "common sense" don't require that I watch over her constantly as I'm fully confident she won't be "tempted away" 3) it's likely living with someone that thinks in such and "old fashioned" (as you put it) manner might likely create more longing for temptation than living in a TRUSTING relatioinship..
Has anyone seen the bear? I cant find him....
Yeah...he is in the ladies room at some bar, looking to put the moves on some non-suspecting human.....they have been saying all week he is just looking for a mate.
She let's him buy her drinks all night and when it's time for her to pay the tab with a slab she wants out.
You can read the incident report on this site www.ky3.com. What an idiot!
I hope the alcohol and the fondling was a good enough trade for his job and reputation.
