Following a break in a main line, the Talatha Rural Community Water District has issued a water boiling advisory.

The advisory goes for those on Gray Mare Hollow Road from St. Marks Church to Silver Bluff Road, according to a release. Those on Storm Branch Road within the Talatha water district also are included.

Residents in those areas are asked to vigorously boil all water used for cooking and drinking for at least three minutes for the next 72 hours. Also, any ice made from water that hasn't been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes. The advisory will affect 30 to 40 families, the release states. Repairs are currently being made to the broken line.

Customers will be notified when water testing is complete. Anyone with questions can call Paul E. Johns, chairman of the Talatha Rural Community Water District at (803) 652-1381 or (803) 646-2525.
