SRS holding first of two job fairs this week

The U.S. Department of Energy will hold two town hall meetings and job fairs involving the upcoming boost of stimulus money to Savannah River Site.

The first town hall meeting will take place at noon Wednesday at Barnwell Primary School, 734 Hagood Avenue, Barnwell, according to a DOE release. That meeting will be followed with a job fair from 1 to 3 p.m.

The second meeting will occur at noon on June 24 at the University of South Carolina – Salkehatchie West Campus Conference Center, 213 Academy Street, Allendale, S.C. A job fair will also follow that from 1 to 3 p.m.

Those attending will be given information about the progress of SRS and upcoming employment opportunities as part of an American Recovery Act project planned there. For more information, visit www.srs.gov/recovery.
