2 accused of growing marijuana

AIKEN - Two Aiken residents have been arrested after police say they found marijuana growing at their home.

Annette Heath and Wilton Heath were arrested Tuesday and charged with manufacturing marijuana, according to a news release from Aiken County sheriff’s Capt. Troy Elwell.

Police say narcotics investigators received an anonymous tip that the two were growing marijuana at a home at 118 Sharon Lane. Authorities say they were able to see marijuana plants in the backyard and found two closets being used as marijuana-growing rooms, fully equipped with aluminum foil-lined walls and grow lamps, the release says.

In a search of the home, police said they found 19 plants ranging in size from 4 inches to 6 feet tall and worth an estimated $1,000.
