Reward offered in MCG attack

Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a man who attacked an elderly woman in a restroom at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital a week ago.

The assault occurred on the fourth floor about 8 p.m. June 3, Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Scott Peebles said in an e-mail.

The 63-year-old victim was beaten unconscious and suffered a dislocated jaw, several broken teeth and bruises and cuts on her head and body. Lt. Peebles said. A surveillance video of the assailant was released last week. He is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.
