Escaped inmate James McCracken was taken into custody this morning about 1:40 a.m. in Horry County, S.C.
According to a state press release, Mr. McCracken, a minimum-security inmate who walked away from his work site Tuesday at Perdue Farms in Dillon, S.C., will be charged with felony escape, a crime that carries up to 15 years in prison.
He was previously housed at Palmer Pre-Release Center in Florence, S.C., where he was serving a 5-year sentence for second-degree, nonviolent burglary.
