DILLON, S.C. — South Carolina prison officials say a minimum security inmate has walked away from his job at a poultry plant in Dillon.

Authorities say 41-year-old James McCracken left the Perdue Farms plant this afternoon.

He was serving a five-year sentence for second-degree, nonviolent burglary out of Horry County. He had been behind bars since March 2008.

Prison officials say Mr. McCracken is a 5-foot-3-inch, 140-pound white man with blue eyes, brown hair and several tattoos.
