Police have released video of the man who they believe shot a local nurse this morning.

Authorities say the suspect, who can be seen walking into the CVS Pharmacy on Walton Way in the video, also robbed a man in the parking lot of the Kroger store on 15th Street shortly before the shooting, according to Richmond County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Peebles.

Lisa Escalante, 32, was leaving the Select Specialty Hospital employee parking lot on Wrights Avenue shortly before 6 this morning when a man on a bicycle passed in front of her.

The man then made a U-turn, circling back toward the woman, the investigator said. He tried to grab her purse, but she fought back. The man then pulled out a revolver and shot her once in the shoulder.

Lt. Peebles said Ms. Escalante was doing well and that the wound was not life-threatening.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information can call the sheriff's office at (706) 821-1080.

Pretty cocky son of a gun -

Pretty cocky son of a gun - guess he does not think of cameras being all over the place. Somebody has to be able to recognize him from those videos. The reward should come in handy for someone who can turn that gangster in to the police!

It's fortunate that the CVS

It's fortunate that the CVS wasn't robbed as well. I hope the MCG police are stepping up patrols and escorts to parking areas.
