LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Investigators say a 25-year-old Lawrenceville mother of two has been killed when she was crushed between two trucks while trying to tell a driver to slow down.

Police said Sabrina Stanek was killed when a pickup truck driven by 39-year-old Constantine Toncz Sunday night, running off the road and crushing her between the front of his truck and another truck parked off the street.

Authorities said Toncz left the scene, parked his truck at the end of the street and fled. He was arrested a short time later on charges of felony vehicular homicide, DUI and felony leaving the scene of an accident.

Is the editor on vacation?

Is the editor on vacation? The second paragraph is a run-on sentence. Sad story, though!

No it isn't a run-on

No it isn't a run-on sentence. The clauses may be a little long, but why's everybody getting so catty about grammar all of a sudden? Where've you been for the past fifty years? And yes, the story is sad, crushing.

It isn't a run-on sentence.

It isn't a run-on sentence. The incorrect verb tense was used. It should be "ran off the road and crushed her" instead of "running off the road and crushing her".

Police said Sabrina Stanek was killed when a pickup truck driven by 39-year-old Constantine Toncz Sunday night, running off the road and crushing her between the front of his truck and another truck parked off the street. ------------------------------Ok if you want proper grammer in this sentence --- Police "reports say" "that Ms. Sabrina Stanek" was killed when a pickup truck "ran" off the road "," crushing her between the front of his truck "and -insert 'front' or 'back' here - of a truck "that was" parked.......... In complete agreement, the grammer and editing needs help..................

A woman is dead. Her children

A woman is dead. Her children are without their mother and likely their father without his wife. She was someone's daughter. She was killed by a drunk driver. All tragic facts. Yet, the comments are about grammar. Completely heartless. This is a very sad testament and my hope is that the above commentators would refrain from any attempt to justify their comments. It would only reveal to the rest of the readers just how painfully detached you are from any semblance of human emotion.

Absolutely, RAINBOOT! Only

Absolutely, RAINBOOT! Only pedantic idiots would engage in this childish one-upmanship. Best rule of thumb, if the writer's meaning and intent is reasonably understood, he has accomplished the result he meant to accomplish in his effort to convey the message. The grammar police are only trying to prove their prudish pedantry. My condolences to the family. GGpap
