Small plane has emergency, lands on metro Atlanta highway

MARIETTA, Ga. — A small plane with two passengers has made an emergency landing on U.S. 41 in the northern Atlanta suburbs.

Authorities say the Italian Sky Arrow was headed for the Cobb County Airport at 11:20 a.m. when the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit and engine failure. Sgt. Dana Pierce with Cobb County police says the pilot landed the plane on the highway and then drove the plane into a nearby subdivision.

No injuries were reported. The pilot's and passenger's names were not released.
