ANCHORAGE, Alaska There will be no shrimp and grits for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. She owes South Carolina's Mark Sanford some king salmon from her home state.
The two Republican governors rumored to have aspirations for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination bet on the ECHL's Kelly Cup finals between the Alaska Aces and South Carolina Stingrays.
The Stingrays won their third Kelly Cup on Friday, defeating the Aces 4-2 in the decisive game in Anchorage so Mr. Sanford wins some Alaska king salmon.
Had the Aces won, Mrs. Palin would have received shrimp and grits and she-crab soup from Tristan Restaurant in Charleston.
Representatives for Mrs. Palin did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
