Aiken County Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division have obtained warrants on Timothy Houston, 40, 1913 Seaborn Drive, North Augusta, SC, for the shooting of a North Augusta Public Safety Officer on June 3

Timothy Houston, 40, of the 1900 block of Seaborn Drive in North Augusta, was arrested between 10 and 10:30 p.m. at America’s Best Value Inn on Washington Road, a Richmond County sheriff’s dispatch supervisor said.

Police say Mr. Houston shot into a North Augusta Public Safety car Wednesday night, wounding Officer Kevin Hayes.

Mr. Houston is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Officer Hayes was released Thursday morning from Medical College of Georgia Hospital, Aiken County sheriff’s Capt. Troy Elwell said.

It was uncertain whether his face wound was caused by the bullet or shattered glass, Capt. Elwell said. Either way, he said, the charge would be assault and battery with intent to kill.

The shooting took place after 7 p.m. Wednesday as Officer Hayes and another policeman attempted to make a traffic stop at Martintown and Old Edgefield roads, police said. The driver drove off, and when police pursued he fired into their vehicle, police said.

It seems Augusta not only has

It seems Augusta not only has become a land field for crime sprees... but a city filled with cynical thoughts and hatred. We need to come together as one city and try harder to not segregate ourselves. God Bless all of the police officers and keep them safe. Let the legal system be the judge and the jury as it should be. Stop all of the ranting.

lol [filtered word] this legal system is a joke. The rant is when a man or person has no fear of the police. Can you only think what he would do to somebody else. For a person that shoots at the police needs to be taken off the street ASAP rather he be put in a hospital or a body bag. I for one go the body bag route. Save the tax payers some money.

The legal system is the

The legal system is the reason a repeat offender is out in public shooting up police officers. I'm shocked officials don't think he is hiding out in a gated community in Evans or Aiken.

His best bet is to give

His best bet is to give himself up at the Augusta Mall Food Court in the middle of the day on a saturday. That is the only sure way that he will stay alive. I am sure if he is found in either Aiken or Richmond County the order is shoot to kill. I dont see this douche shooting a local police officer and then being arrested with kindness.

Timmy, even on a good day,

Timmy, even on a good day, NAPS doesn't play, and now you shot one of their police officers. You are one big-azz FOOL. You would be wise to just give yourself up- if you set foot in Aiken County ever again, you won't make it out.
