A job fair associated with Savannah River Site's $1.6 billion in American Recovery & Reinvestment Act funds will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Midlands Technical College, 151 Powell Road, Columbia, S.C. The event will be held in Bay 2, Hall 6-B and the public is welcome.

Earlier in the day, beginning at 10: 30 a.m., vendors who conduct business at the site and others may attend an open briefing on job opportunities in which Congressman James Clyburn, Department of Energy/Savannah River site manager Jeff Allison and Savannah River Nuclear Solutions President Chuck Munns will discuss spending of stimulus funds.

That briefing will be at Midland Tech auditorium. An SRS spokeswoman said additional job fairs will be scheduled in coming months in locations around the Central Savannah River Area. For more employment information, visit

The Aiken paper had much more

The Aiken paper had much more information regarding the job fairs. And obviously, this particular job fair is the FIRST specifically for the ARRA:

From the Aiken Standard: "According to Paivi Nettamo, SRNS spokesperson, this is the first of such events and there will be numerous others held around the CSRA toward the end of the summer."
