Third arrest made in beating of elderly couple

MONROE, Ga. — A third arrest has been made in the home invasion and beating of an elderly couple in Loganville.

Authorities said 18-year-old Barry Marquez Partee of Monroe turned himself in around midnight Thursday.

Partee and two others, 18-year-old J.J. Blackwell and 21-year-old Corey Butler, are accused of attacking C.F. Ewing and his wife, Epsie, at their home on May 21.

The husband answered the door and three told him they were interested in buying his truck. Police said they then rushed into the home, robbed and beat the couple and left with a small amount of cash.

C.F. Ewing has been released from a hospital but his wife remains in intensive care in critical condition.

This world is so horrid and sad and our youth are out of control. Where is God in their lives? This literally makes me sick to think that no-one is safe. I've lived it personally with my elderly parents next door neighbor...being beaten to near death several years ago. This boy had a decent mother who taught him right from wrong and he still went astray. She was very supportive to the family and the victim of her sons cruelty. You never truly get over these things. Right now I keep a child that lost his father to a home invasion/murder and will never see his father face to face. How do you explain these things to people? I pray Mrs. Ewing will pull through and make a full recovery.

I don't know if you can

I don't know if you can explain, but if you pray, God will give you strength to deal with the situations.

My thoughts and prayers are

My thoughts and prayers are with the Ewings also. It is a little reassuring that suspects have been arrested. And yes as long as man thinks he is in control of his destiney, we will have evil. God believing people are given the ability to deal with these terrible acts and the times we are living in.

How sad, alot of jail time may straighten them out but who knows, it may only make them harder and colder.

My prayers are with the couple. The three pieces of excrement should be thrown into a pit filled with fireants. They will learn a lesson that way.
