The Richmond County Board of Education will hold a called board meeting at 2:30 p.m. today to discuss the budget.

It is the third budget hearing as board members continue to deal with a $24.5 million projected budget shortfall.

The board could start to take action on some of the issues, including whether to cut pay, furlough or layoff.

The meetings will be held on the first floor board room, 864 Broad Street.
