Joshua Bernard Ferguson, 52, will be charged with two counts of murder and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime in the slayings of Jesse Albert Haynes, 42, and Rodney Antrone Crane, 27.

Both men suffered multiple stab wounds and were pronounced dead at 5 a.m. in apartment A-5 at Glenwood II Apartments off of Lumpkin Road, said Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen.

A friend of the deceased men stopped by the apartment to check on the two men. Upon his arrival, he found the two men in a pool of blood.

When deputies arrived to the scene they found a trail of blood leading from apartment A-5 to apartment A-7, which is directly above the apartment, said Richmond County Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Peebles.

Richmond County SWAT had to force entry into the apartment A-7 where they found a significant amount of blood and Mr. Ferguson barricaded in the bathroom of the apartment. After deputies talked to the men through the door for several minutes, Mr. Ferguson surrendered.

He was treated for minor cuts to one of his hands at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics.

Mr. Ferguson is a convicted felon, who is currently on parole for a voluntary manslaughter charge in 1984.

More details about the number of stab wounds to the victims will be announced after autopsies are complete at the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta.

It sad at how much the chronicle has gone downhill. Someone for the chronicle was handing out free papers at the grocery store the other day. I got one, but it was not to read it was to start my fires with in the fireplace in the winter.

Hey 007 - Just holding the new editor to his pledge to provide breaking news. onecatfish - note the time of my post. Had you checked the blissful oblivion of the AC then, you would understand better. Oh yeah, how come Karin didn't include calories in her recipe today? Never mind, it's a rhetorical question.

This site is a perfect

This site is a perfect example of how far downhill the paper has gone. Ideally the webmaster or paper rep should check the posts, which is what used to happen, and then allow thought-provoking, intelligent comments up for discussion. Instead, it's up to us to police the comments for appropriate content but by then it's too late. Comments are already posted which are either insulting, uninformed, or just plain out-of-line. Apparently the paper keeps these comments sites up because it attracts potential advertisement readers. How pitiful.

Maybe it was loud moaning in addition to a loud stereo. Or maybe he got tired of their complaining about HIS loud stereo. Apartments were always a bad idea. You get other people's cockroaches and their meth lab fires burn up your life and stuff.

All you voyeurs stand by. You will soon know how many stab wounds there were. I know now why that reporter was crying about mall security running her off. She did not get a chance to ask if the baby was wearing cloth diapers or Pampers. Inquiring minds need to know these things.

It seems like people had

It seems like people had taken this tradgedy for their own stupid respect. Most of these somments is on how bad the chronicle is. My sympathy goes out to the families and friends of these guys. I always say it is sad that a person can take a life and get some jail time and get out on parole but let a person rob a bank or a store and threaten to kill people and not kill andone and they get life. The person that is doing the robbing will be better off killing someone while they are robbing the place so they can get out on parole. The chronicle they do need to do better reporting. Most of the time it is worth looking at.
