Belcher, Poythress, Rowland earn league honors

Georgia junior first baseman Rich Poythress was named to the All-Southeastern Conference first team and the league's All-Defensive Team, while Georgia Tech sophomore outfielder Jeff Rowland was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team,.

Poythress is hitting .379 with 21 HR and 77 RBI. Rowland is hitting .357 with eight home runs, 32 RBI and 18 stolen bases.

Also, South Carolina starting pitcher Nolan Belcher (4-3, 4.99 ERA, 66 strikeouts) was named to the SEC's All-Freshman Team.

Belcher, Poythress and Rowland all played at Greenbrier High School, which won baseball state championships in 2006 and 2007.
