Kids camp of the day: Big Bucks!

  • Follow Latest News

Big Bucks, Little Bucks is not a deer hunting course. The week-long camp being offered June 22-26 by the Family Y is designed to help kids understand money better.

Topics include the value of a dollar, easy ways to save, how money grows, what is credit, how to fill out a check and keeping your account balanced. Graduation from camp includes a $10 savings account for each participant to help inspire a habit of savings.

The camp sponsored by First Citizens Bank is being offered at two locations: Mossy Creek Elementary School, 421 West Five Notch Road in North Augusta and the South Augusta Family Y at 2215 Tobacco Road.

Cost is $80 for Family Y members or $105 for non-members. The Family Y charges a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $25 per child for summer camp enrollment. Also, a non-refundable deposit of $25 per child is charged to hold space in a particular camp session.

To register, or for more information call the North Augusta Family Y at (803) 278-0882 or the South Augusta Family Y at (706) 922-9650. For a list of more than 125 other summer camp options, go to augustachronicle.com/summercamps.
