AIKEN - Belmont Abbey's Patrick Atwell scored from third in the top of the ninth on a wild pitch and the Crusaders upset No. 5 USC Aiken, 6-5, in the Division II Southeast Regional opener tonight at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.

USC Aiken falls into the losers bracket and will play Tusculum at 11 a.m. Friday in the double elimination tournament.
