COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Corrections will resume regularly scheduled inmate visitation Friday at institutions where it was halted because of the H1N1 flu virus, the department announced in a news release today.

The agency made the decision after reviewing updated information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Correctional Association and after consultation with the state Department of Health and Environmental Control.
