Gov. Sonny Perdue has signed legislation that overhauls the Augusta-Richmond County Coliseum Authority.

His office announced in a news release today that he signed House Bill 813, which passed last month on the final day of the legislative session.

The bill reduces the current 12-member board to seven members – six appointed by Augusta commissioners and a chairman chosen by the legislative delegation. Under the bill, the terms of all sitting coliseum authority members end at midnight May 31, and they’re barred from being reappointed for one year.

Yeh, 6 members appointed by a commission who are a group of idiots paralyzed by racism. What an improvement this will be. Let me guess, 3 black, 3 white. I want a mulatto as chairman so we can maintain the balance. No wait. I take that back. I've seen what one of them will do. His recommendation would be to raise the county taxes, fully fund the coliseum and entertainment with tax money, and provide 24/7 free gangsta rap concerts for the downtrodden. ACORN could organize the free government transportation and voter registration. Scratch the mulatto request. I'll take my chances with whatever the legislative delegation comes up with. I have learned that nowadays status quo is better than "CHANGE" and at least 4 times cheaper.

The insanity of having a 7

The insanity of having a 7 man committee when a 3 man will do is so bureaucratic. Government action at it's best. Our state congress, just like our national congress, needs a thorough flush. The ONLY difference between liberal light and liberal is a minor shade. Don't the politicos realize this half step is more irritating than no action?

Now comes the appointment of a brand new board, who will be the most professional individuals on the planet. But, where will they come from? What are the qualifications required? Does a college degree count or is it a "fly-by-night ops? This could get messy...
