Postal rates go up Monday

  • Follow Latest News

Postal rates go up again Monday -- this time increasing from 42 to 44 cents for first-class mail.

Other mail services, including periodicals (newspapers and magazines) package services and special services will be adjusted Monday, as well, a postal bulletin said. Mail on a postcard will rise from 27 cents to 28 cents.

For the average household, the first-class mail stamp price change will represent an additional $3 a year over the course of a year.

Just the first of MANY

Just the first of MANY increases to come thanks to the horrific spending by Obama and the other socialists in Congress. I hope the Obama voters are happy with their "change".

...Now, now, humbleopinion.

...Now, now, humbleopinion. When Bush was in office sending our sons and daughters to fight the war in Iraq, you were happy go lucky. Whether you like it or not, "Barack" Obama is still your president too (democrat or republican). Isn't it sweet to have a president with the name "Barack Obama"? It sounds so African American. I bet you hate that don't you, humbleopinion? Don't respond, I know you do. Come on, say it with me, "Barack Obama." Now, you're excused to go to the bathroom and throw up. *Loud Laughing*

Well, with the wonderful

Well, with the wonderful increase in service and the wonderful attitude of postal workers, we could only expect the price to go up many more times. And even more for the rich.

opinionated, I think the name

opinionated, I think the name sounds much more Muslim Arabic than African American. In fact, I don't think it sounds ANY kind of American. I know that makes you proud.

I think you are all making a

I think you are all making a big deal about much of nothing. What else are we going to do with the extra pennies in our pockets? If you recall, the increase in postal rates actually began in the 1990s. So, the blame goes to neither President or party. If all you have to do is complain about what's wrong and not provide a constructive solution...you're just bumping your gums!

I use e-mail to write letters

I use e-mail to write letters now, and ACH to pay bills, so my use of the post office is now to ship a package once in a blue moon (use UPS daily), or mail 1 item a month. Unk Sam can just KISS-MY-GRITS !!

Obama didn't set the postal

Obama didn't set the postal rates increase, this one was determined during the Bush administration to go into force on Monday. For years, postal employess both full and part time have been making obscene wages. Maybe if they took a pay cut, we would pay less for stamps.

Humbleopinion and Patricia

Humbleopinion and Patricia Thomas, it doesn't make a difference what the name sounds like. As long as it doesn't sound like GEORGE BUSH! Both of you sound like "PWT" and I don't mean pretty young thing either. President Obama's name is far from being Arab, but don't you wish that he was. I'm sure it loathes you both to see those full lips, dark complexion, ears, and dip in his walk as he makes his entrance to his press conferences. You guys hate it, but we African-americans love it. Yes, he was the change we needed--without a doubt.
