COLUMBIA — She'd already said yes, so she was surprised by the question.

But 21-year-old Cara Cahoon nodded yes when her fiancee interrupted Columbia College's graduation to make sure she was going to marry him.

Twenty-three-year-old Andrew Morris yelled out to Cahoon as she was shaking the hand of Columbia College president Caroline Whitson on Saturday.

The 3,000 people at Township Auditorium burst into applause when she nodded her agreement.

Whitson told The State on Monday that she couldn't enforce her threat of ejection for anyone who disrupted the ceremony, given the circumstances.

Cahoon had said yes April 4 when Morris hid a diamond ring in the sand at Isle of Palms.

Morris says he always wants to treat her like he's still trying to win her heart.

The wedding is set for Aug. 8.

Lame... and selfish.
He'd already asked her and then interrupted her graduation so he could be part of it.

The marriage won't last. This is showboating and give them about two yrs. His tune will surely have changed after the legal experience.

Different....... but nice! I wish them the best.

There's a time and a place for everything....this was NOT the time NOR the place.

It would've been better if she changed her mind and was like, "I know I said yes before, but now I not."

Oh for the love of God....get over it people. There is still love in this world whether you like it or not. This will be something to talk about on their 25th wedding anniversary. Best of luck!

I would have been really annoyed if my husband interrupted my college graduation to propose a SECOND TIME! College graduation is all about the people graduating, not about a person in the audience trying to get attention for himself and his fiance. He should grow up and stop ruining things for others! I really don't see how this is newsworthy & I think he should have been thrown out, along with his fiance.

Somebody dropped the ball in forming this guy. By about the age of six, he should have known better than to call attention to himself at a ceremony intended to honor others. Cara might be having second thoughts about marrying a man with such questionable judgment about appropriate public behavior, even accounting for his enthusiasm for her.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I finally agree with Justus on something. This was not the time or the place; he is definitely a showboater...I give it two years as well....It may have been a little different if he hadn't already asked her once. I used to be in sales. Never ask for the sale twice if the first answer was yes.

Give the boy some love.He just needs the attention.

How immature of him. I guess he needed to steal the attention away from the ceremony honoring the GRADUATES. He reminds me a lot of my daughter's EX boyfriend; it was always about him.

FallingLeaves

I would be very angry if anyone did that to any of my children when they were graduating. They would be in big time trouble. That is not the time, nor the place.

Excessive drama and bad judgement. It won't last.
