Daily one-hour tours are Monday through Saturday at 10 and 11:30 a.m., 1:30 and 3 p.m. and Sundays at 1:30, 3 and 4:30 p.m. Three-hour length evening tours are offered Saturdays at 5p.m during April, 5:30 p.m. during May and 6 p.m. in June.
Tours guides point out the scenic and historic highlights of the 164-year-old canal, including National Historic sites such as Confederate Powderworks and 19th Century mills s well and the plentiful and fascinating wildlife. Tours begin at the Canal Interpretive Center at Enterprise Mill, an interactive museum that tells the story of the canal that brought the Industrial Revolution to the American South.
Moonlight Music Cruises begin with Celtic Concert on Friday, May 8, 7 p.m.
The Moonlight Music Cruise series, featuring a live performance on the Petersburg boat will begin its season on Friday, May 8 with a performance of Celtic music by Lillie Morris and Solstice. The popular tours offer a wide array of musical styles each Friday night in spring and again in the fall, from early September through early November. Passengers are welcome to bring aboard refreshments of their choice. The spring seasons lineup also includes jazz, rock, pop and blues vocalists, Celtic, gospel, bluegrass instrumentalists and even a tribute to Elvis Presley. All seats $24.
