GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Another Republican has joined the race for governor in Georgia.

U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal said this morning outside the Hall County Courthouse that he will enter the 2010 contest. He said he will be a governor who "does his own thinking, ties his own shoes and can deliver a speech without a teleprompter."

Deal, a one-time Democrat and former state senator, is one of the most senior members of Georgia's congressional delegation. He began eyeing the race after Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle — an early Republican favorite — withdrew for health reasons. Both men are from Gainesville and share the same north Georgia political base.

Four Republicans are already in the race to replace Gov. Sonny Perdue. They are Secretary of State Karen Handel, Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine, state Sen. Eric Johnson and state Rep. Austin Scott.

What do you think of U.S.

What do you think of U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal joining the race for GA governor? I think it is good that we will have 4 Republicans to choose from. We need to get away from all the socialism that the Democrats are implementing into our government without our say so.

Georgia is far from being

Georgia is far from being socialistic. However, you can't fight the feds and Obama unless the state secedes. The socialist movement led by Obama has lifted off, and there is no stopping it.

I wish Texas would secede

I wish Texas would secede from the country so these idiotic schizophrenic, anti-progressive rednecks that hallucinate about government run concentration camps and their guns being taken away from them would have a place to call home. Please take Paul Broun with y'all too!
May I suggest they rename Texas to Redneckia?
