The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the amphitheater and memorial gardens behind the Columbia County Library in Evans.
Performing artists from Columbia County will take the amphitheater stage during the day, while the artists of all ages use chalk to create temporary artworks on the sidewalks winding through the park.
Individual or team contestants, after paying a $10 entry fee, will compete for prizes, including a $100 prize to the winning teams from area elementary, middle and high school art departments. There also will be a free sidewalk-chalk area for children.
Other events at the arts festival include storytelling, vendors, dance groups, children's activities and dramatic presentations. Admission is free.
