Two women have been hospitalized tonight after one shot the other and then attempted to flee, according to Richmond County sheriff’s investigator Charles Mulherin.

Details of the shooting, including the women’s names, weren’t immediately available. Investigator Mulherin said one woman shot the other at a residence, then injured herself when she wrecked a Chevy Blazer in a nearby yard while trying to escape.

The shooting happened at about 8:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Brown Road, he said. Both women were taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics. Their conditions are unknown.
