An Augusta woman accused of cashing a deceased woman’s Social Security checks was caught today.

Lena Jordan McQuaker, 49, of 1225 Douglas Street, is charged with first degree forgery for allegedly cashing $4,223 in checks over a nearly five-month period last year, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

The suspect made her transactions at the Check Exchange on Wrightsboro Road, the report said.
